LeaseWeb replaces Cisco CRS-1 core router with Juniper MX-960 3D

LeaseWeb, the largest host in Europe by bandwidth, announced today it is acquiring a Juniper MX-960 3D core router to handle the rapid rise in its internet traffic and provide additional scalability to its network. The Juniper MX-960 3D replaces a Cisco CRS-1 core router previously in service at LeaseWeb.

Con Zwinkels, Managing Director of LeaseWeb, said: ¡°LeaseWeb¡¯s network volume continues to increase at a very rapid rate to meet customer requirements. Right now we are utilising 700 Gigabits per second, with capacity needs well in excess of 1 Terabit per second soon. LeaseWeb required an extremely advanced core router to continue to keep pace with future customer demands. The MX960 is capable of handling up to 2.6 Terabits per second allowing the LeaseWeb network to grow efficiently well into the future.¡±

The Juniper MX-960 3D allows LeaseWeb to diversify its network infrastructure, offering a very high density solution, while providing a range of services for multi-point connectivity.
